Freestyle skiing action continued yesterday (March 10) at the 2011 Marriott Junior Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo. as Kirsten Cooley and Andy Partridge took home the gold medals in the slopestyle contest.

Cooley of Team Summit scored a 81.0-point winning run on her second trip through the Bashor Terrain Park in the best-of-two-run format. She landed a  double front flip off the final booter seal the victory. Her teammate Brooke Potter was right behind in second place with 77.2 points. Jessica Breda of Marshfield, Mass finished third with 73.2 points.

Axis Freeride’s Partridge took the men’s title with a 90.8-point score on his first run. Team Summit’s Cody Cirillo was just off the mark to earn the silver medal with a 89.4-point performance on in his second run. Micheal Hibbs secured the bronze medal with a 89.0-point run.

The Freestyle Junior Championships continue today with men’s and women’s moguls contests.
