Lauren Macuga is Out of the Copper Cup GS and the Season
Lauren Macuga will miss the entire Olympic season after tearing ligaments in her knee during training today. She will undergo surgery to repair the damage, ending her campaign before it begins. The powerful 22-year-old speed racer had planned to expand into GS and was eager to compete in front of a home crowd in Copper. Her absence is a significant loss for the Stifel U.S. Ski Team and a setback for one of the sport’s fastest-rising young athletes.
