There is good news if you are planning on training or racing at the world-class Copper Mountain Tech Center. Fortunately, the last few weeks have provided Copper Mountain with fantastic snowmaking conditions. Additionally, Copper has built the right infrastructure to take full advantage of the opportunity.
Copper Mountain offers a wide variety of training this time of year. However, the USST Speed Center and the Copper Mountain Tech Center are among the best in the world. These photos were taken during the preparation of the Tech Center. The Copper staff, along with help from many coaches from around the country and world, finished the preparations yesterday, November 15th. Now it is time to take advantage.
Teams with lane reservations at the Copper Mountain Tech Center should plan to experience excellent training.
Additionally, Copper Mountain hosted two men’s FIS downhills today. The races were one minute and thirty seconds long on perfect snow. The international field included athletes from the USA, Austria, Italy, Germany, Norway, Slovenia, France, Canada and Great Britain.
Although many of the US World Cup athletes did not compete, some of the world’s best skiers used the day as a warm-up for the Lake Louise races next week. Notably in attendance was Olympic Super-G and downhill champion Austrian Matthias Mayer.
