Danioth undergoes surgery on left knee
2016 Alpine Combined Junior World Champion Aline Danioth injured her left knee in training. The diagnosis by the team doctor, Dr. Walter O. Frey in Zurich, showed an injury of the inner meniscus, which was operated on by Dr. Sandro Fucentese at the University Hospital Balgrist.
The Swiss B-squad athlete now has to wait three to four weeks before she can return to on-snow training. The injury should have no affect on the rest of her season.
“Luckily, I do not have to pause for a long time with the training and can quickly return to the snow again,” said the 19-year-old athlete. “I hope after this procedure to be able to attack a hundred percent pain-free.”
