Domestic Roundup: January 30, 2005All those guys who qualified to race at Kitzbuehel, only to have it cancelled, plus a few looking for a final tune up before the Worlds, collected in Tarvisio, Italy for Europa Cup. That made it pretty tough to score well as Scott Macartney found out in the first of the three race set. He wound up tied for 24th. Canadian Manuel Osborne-Paradis led North America in 18th. The second day proved a bit better with Osborne-Paradis finishing sixth and Justin Johnson breaking the top ten in ninth. Tim Jitloff got a point in 30th. In the super G Osborne-Paradis was 15th, Brad Spence 19th and Wade Bishop 23rd with Erik Guay 25th. It’s tough out there. Check the FIS site for results.

The biggest series domestically was the FIS speed series at Big Sky. Travis Ganong got both a DH and SG win. Errol Kerr was on the podium in all four men’s races, winning the second DH. Travis Svensrud missed the opener but posted 3-2-4 the rest of the way. And, Will Brandenburg collected the final SG win.

The women’s half of the series belonged to Laurenne Ross winning both DH’s and the second SG with a third in the first. Hannah Victory was 4th and 5th in the DH’s, won the first SG and then DNF’d. Amy Harris was fourth three times and second once in the four races. Between two DNF’s Christina Kim posted two podiums.
