DENVER (Sept. 5, 2024) — The University of Denver announced Friday that three student-athletes will join its alpine skiing team for the 2026 season.

The Pioneers welcome Caman Beauregard of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Elisabeth Creighton of Montreal, Quebec; and Cecilia Pizzinato of Courmayeur, Italy.

Beauregard Joins From Steamboat Springs

Beauregard spent 13 years with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. He placed in the top 30 of both giant slalom and slalom at the 2025 U.S. Alpine National Championships and won the U18 giant slalom at the Austrian Junior Nationals.

He also finished 14th in super-G at the 2024 U.S. Junior Nationals and took third in slalom at the Colorado Devo Ski Cup FIS race. His aunt, Heidi Bose, skied for New Mexico, coached there, and competed on the World Cup circuit for 12 years.

Why DU: “I chose the University of Denver for its academic and athletic prowess. Its quarterly system is perfect for a ski racer who is trying to go beyond college and into the World Cup. DU has also been a dream of mine since I was a freshman in high school.”

Creighton Brings Canadian Title

Creighton raced for Ski Quebec Alpine and Northwood School, where she won the 2024 Canadian national slalom title and finished fourth in giant slalom. Ski Quebec named her its rising star the same year.

She posted strong Nor-Am Cup results, placing 11th in slalom at Panorama, British Columbia, and 14th in slalom at Devils Glen, Ontario. She also finished 26th in giant slalom at Lake Louise.

Why DU: “I chose the University of Denver for the opportunity to ski at a high level while pursuing strong academics. The location, support system and global focus of the program really stood out to me.”

Pizzinato Adds International Depth

Pizzinato raced for Sci Club Courmayeur Monte Bianco ASD and ASIVA, earning 39 FIS podiums and 15 wins between 2021 and 2025. She finished third overall in the 2024–25 Italian Grand Prix technical disciplines.

Her international highlights include representing Italy at the 2024 FISU Winter World University Games and racing in Europa Cup events. She also recorded top-10 finishes at the Italian Junior Nationals in 2021 and 2022.

Why DU: “The ski program seems amazing. After skiing all over Europe, I thought that skiing in Colorado would be a great opportunity to see new places, ski on different snow and live in a new and supportive environment.”
