Ex-UVM and USSA coach Curran leaves Dynastar for Killington coaching slot{mosimage}Tim Curran, Dynastar marketing director for the past decade, will join the Killington Mountain School alpine coaching staff beginning July 1.
Curran will take on the role of head J3/J4 coach and will work with the coaches and athletes at the Killington Ski Club.
Curran has many years of experience in the ski industry as well as in racing and coaching. For the past 10 years, he was the sports marketing manager at Dynastar.
While a student at the University of Vermont, Curran twice earned NCAA All-American honors. He spent four years on the U.S. Ski Team competing on the Europa and World Cup circuits. Curran is a graduate of UVM and Burke Mountain Academy and is intimately familiar with the ski academy tradition.
Curran was a coach of the University of Vermont for three years, including the 1993-94 season when the team won the national championship.
Curran said, ‘I am excited to be part of a program that has recently made incredible strides in its ski program, and has gained respect and reputation in the ski community for its athletic and academic performance.’
KMS head Tao Smith said, ‘Tim adds a wealth of knowledge and experience to our staff. He was my teammate and coach for a number of years at UVM. He will be a strong addition to the coaching staff as he embodies a great ski philosophy and spirit.’
The J3/J4 coaching staff at KMS also includes Dylan Snell, former J3/J4 program coach at Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Jake Stevens, a recent graduate of University of New Hampshire and captain of the UNH Ski Team.
