Many young ski racers start off their athletic endeavors with tuning support from coaches, parents, or a local ski shop, only to take on the task of ski preparation themselves as they mature. On national ski teams, technicians hired by the teams often look after the athletes’ equipment in quantity, typically providing service to several athletes on different brands at the same time. But the highest level of equipment support, known as factory service, is offered directly by a ski brands to its best-performing athletes on the World Cup.
