The Finnish alpine skiing association, Ski Sport Finland, has announced the first names for 2018-19 national team. Ski Sport Finland is appointing and selecting its national team in two installments for the first time. In the first installment, representatives have been selected for the senior national teams. Junior national teams will be selected by May, when there will also be a chance to attract more athletes to the senior national teams.

The choices for the first national team have been made immediately after the end of the international competition season featuring only athletes who meet 100 percent of the selection criteria for the national team.

In addition, after the end of the domestic competition season, other Ski Sport Finland teams will be selected for juniors national teams, follow-up groups and other possible teams supported by Ski Sport Finland (i.e. Academy). The national team will also be completed on the basis of the results achieved during 2018-19 or by the discretion Coaching Committee.

The main objective of selected athletes for national teams in the coming season is to succeed at the international top level including the Are 2019 World Championships. The aim of the athletes chosen for junior teams is to thrive in international competitions.
