Designed for uncompromising speed and control, the Firebird Race-Type Series is crafted with Austrian heritage and World Cup ambition.
Blizzard Skis expands its Firebird racing-ski portfolio to the pinnacle of on-piste performance with the introduction of the Firebird Race-Type Series for the 2026/27 winter season. Built with World Cup–derived construction standards and unveiled in a striking purple design, the new series represents Blizzard’s most uncompromising commercial race ski to date.

The Firebird Race-Type Series is engineered to transfer the pure DNA of a true race ski that challenges and rewards the most technically skilled skiers. At the same time, the series marks a bold new chapter in the Firebird era, with purple symbolizing speed, power, and the courage to evolve.
Pure Racing Technology
At the heart of the Firebird Race-Type Series is Blizzard’s Trueblend Race Woodcore, which precisely layers hard ash and lighter poplar to deliver maximum stability underfoot with finely tuned flex in the tip and tail.
Surrounding the core are three full layers of titanal—a 0.6-millimeter sheet beneath the wood core and two 0.4-millimeter sheets above; creating torsional stiffness levels typically reserved for World Cup skis. The result is an exceptional edge grip, even at maximum speed and under extreme load.
Phenol sidewalls, built to World Cup standard, ensure direct and loss-free power transmission from boot to edge. A continuous rubber vibration-damping layer reduces shock and chatter, particularly noticeable on hard, rutted racecourses. A World Cup base delivers elite glide performance and can be serviced and prepared like a competition ski.

Design with Impact
For the first time, the Firebird collection appears in purple; a color that goes beyond aesthetics. In motorsport, purple signifies the fastest lap, a direct reference to the Race-Type Series’ performance promise. It also represents strength, energy, and transformation, signaling the evolution of the Firebird line.
The MT features vivid purple tones that emphasize agility and explosiveness, while the LT uses deep violet accents to underscore stability and speed. The design language mirrors the personality of each ski and extends across the broader Firebird collection, including matching Tecnica ski boots, creating a unified and unmistakable presence.
Purple also stands for individuality and courage — values Blizzard intentionally brings into the Firebird family. The message is clear: a new performance dimension begins here.

Firebird Race-Type MT – Precision and Agility
Designed for technically demanding medium-length turns, the Race-Type MT combines explosiveness, maneuverability, and stability. With a 67-millimeter waist, it will be available in the lengths 167, 173, and 179 centimeters.
Quick edge transitions, precise grip, and adaptability make the MT ideal for tighter course settings and variable turn rhythms. A wider tip enables powerful initiation, while the compact tail ensures controlled exits.
Firebird Race-Type LT – Stability and Speed
Built for long, powerful turns and maximum composure at speed, the Race-Type LT features a narrower geometry, perfectly aligned with GS-inspired skiing. Designed with a 67-millimeter waist, it will be available in 173, 179, and 183 centimeters.
The elongated shape provides exceptional stability and confidence under high centrifugal forces. Optimized for wide, open race slopes and high-speed training runs, the LT prioritizes absolute line stability and control.
Both models are available with Race Plate or without plate, allowing skiers to customize setup and stand height to personal preference.
The Firebird Race-Type Series is engineered for professional skiers, former racers, coaches, and highly technical performance skiers who demand equipment without compromise. These skis reach their full potential on hard, groomed slopes, racecourses, and training runs—where precision, edge pressure, and power transmission make a measurable difference.
