BEAVER CREEK, Colo. — Grounded planes in Calgary held multiple national ski teams hostage at the airport on Monday, forcing the cancellation of Tueday’s (Dec. 3) downhill training run on the Birds of Prey at Beaver Creek. The opening women’s downhill training run in Lake Louise had been cancelled earlier in the week, but women’s teams flying from Denver also faced a number of delays traveling to Canada.

An impending snowstorm set to hit Beaver Creek later today through Wednesday evening may also pose a challenge for tomorrow’s training run. The area is currently under a National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning calling for 12 to 24 inches of snow through midnight Wednesday.
