Friday’s Kvitfjell Downhill Cancelled
FIS announced on Thursday morning that due to high winds forcing the cancellation of Thursday’s men’s World Cup downhill training run in Kvitfjell, Norway, training will now take place on Friday, March 1, and the downhill race originally scheduled for that day will be cancelled.
The Friday downhill in Kvitfjell was a make-up race of the cancelled Garmisch-Partenkirchen downhill earlier this month. With Friday’s cancellation, there are now only two men’s downhill races remaining on the calendar. Saturday’s downhill in Kvitfjell is still on schedule as of Thursday evening.
Switzerland’s Beat Feuz currently leads the men’s downhill standings by 100 points over Italy’s Dominik Paris.
