Ikon Pass Kicks Off Winter 25/26 as Arapahoe Basin Opens for the Season
Winter has officially arrived! The 25/26 Ikon Pass season kicked off as Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, became the first mountain to open its lifts on October 26, 2025. With new destinations in Canada, Europe, and Asia, plus app and on-mountain upgrades, Ikon Pass holders are in for their biggest season yet.
Odermatt Holds on in Thrilling Sölden Second Run
Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt claimed victory in the men’s Giant Slalom at Sölden, edging Austria’s Marco Schwarz and Norway’s Atle McGrath. Challenging conditions and aggressive skiing made for a thrilling second run, while River Radamus was the lone North American in the top 30.
Scheib Ends Austria’s Drought; Moltzan Second, Shiffrin Fourth in Sölden
Julia Scheib ended Austria’s nine-year women’s GS drought with a home victory in Sölden. Paula Moltzan finished second, Mikaela Shiffrin fourth, and the Stifel U.S. Ski Team dominated — three in the top six and all North Americans in the top 20.
Julia Scheib (AUT) Leads Sölden Giant Slalom as Americans Shine
Austria’s Julia Scheib stormed into the lead after the first run in Sölden’s season-opening giant slalom. The Stifel U.S. Ski Team surged into contention with Paula Moltzan second, Mikaela Shiffrin sixth, and Katie Hensien ninth as three Americans landed inside the top 10.
