Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC) has hired Mark Godomsky as executive director, replacing Mark Cole. Godomsky hails from Maine and was selected from a highly competitive field of over 50 applicants from around the country.  He has over 25 years of experience in various leadership positions in snow sports including coaching positions at Bates College, Carrabassett Valley Academy and Colby College.  Most recently, Godomsky was the director of on-snow programs at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine.

“The search committee aided by parents, coaches, staff and board members ran a thorough and competitive process and felt Mark is best positioned to execute the long term vision of AVSC, while paying homage to the legacy of this great club,” commented Marc Ganzi, the AVSC board president. “One of the things we love about Mark is his passion and long-term commitment to winter sports and youth programs. His successes at Colby College for 13 years and Gould Academy for nine years should benefit AVSC for years to come!”

Eager to start, Godomsky begins the transition to this new role on June 1. His wife, Heidi, and three sons, Max, Ben and Nick will join him in Aspen.

“I firmly believe that AVSC is the gold standard of ski club programing in the United States – kudos to Mark Cole and many others for that – and there is opportunity to build on that success with continuous improvement and innovation,” Godomsky said. “I am thrilled to accept the position and join this great community,”
