After much speculation and concern over venue preparation, the green light was officially granted for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup races scheduled for February in Jeongseon, South Korea. Representing the FIS, Guenter Hujara offered the positive snow control after he inspected the full downhill course, including the newly constructed gondola, and declared everything to be fully operational and ready for the upcoming men’s downhill and super G World Cup races on Feb. 6-7, 2016.

“The slope is ready and snow conditions on the hill are great; there is enough snow prepared to very high standards. I highly respect the tremendous efforts of the organizers, especially over the past two months. Achievements in this period have been remarkable, and I have no doubt that athletes will enjoy the excellent course here at Jeongseon,” remarked Hujara.

The races will serve as the first official test event for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
