Didier Cuche Skiing the Super Shape Limited
There is something special about a perfectly carved turn. The moment the edges engage, pressure builds, and the skis accelerate across the snow. For skiers who appreciate that sensation, the equipment beneath their feet matters.
Twenty years after the original HEAD Supershape made its debut, World Cup legend Didier Cuche is helping celebrate its anniversary with a limited-edition ski.
The new HEAD Supershape Limited combines distinctive anniversary graphics with the performance-oriented construction of today’s e-Magnum. It celebrates one of HEAD’s signature ski collections while reconnecting it with one of Switzerland’s greatest racers.
Didier Cuche Returns to His Supershape Roots
Cuche’s connection to Supershape dates back two decades, when he held the original ski aloft on a World Cup podium.
The Swiss champion won five World Cup discipline titles during a career defined by powerful, precise skiing and an exceptional ability to perform at speed.
According to HEAD, Cuche helped develop the anniversary edition’s colors and graphics before skiing on the finished model and approving its final design.
His involvement gives the anniversary edition a direct connection to the original Supershape and adds something meaningful for fans who followed his remarkable racing career.
HEAD Supershape Limited: Built for the Love of Carving
Beneath the anniversary graphics is HEAD’s e-Magnum, a performance-oriented piste ski designed for experienced skiers who enjoy making energetic, precise turns on groomed snow.
Its 72-millimeter waist supports quick edge changes, while a 13.1-meter turn radius at 170 centimeters favors shorter, responsive turns.
For skiers who enjoy controlling their line, adjusting their rhythm and building pressure through a carved turn, those characteristics are central to the e-Magnum’s appeal.
The attraction isn’t simply speed. It’s the satisfaction of choosing a line, committing to the turn and feeling the ski respond to skilled execution.
The Technology Behind the Performance
HEAD says the anniversary edition incorporates the same performance technologies as its standard e-Magnum.
Speed Rocker combines a slightly raised tip with traditional camber underfoot to support smooth turn initiation and strong edge engagement.
Worldcup Sandwich Cap construction provides the structural foundation for grip and stability, while Crossforce Carbon is designed to improve responsiveness and power transfer.
HEAD’s Energy Management Circuit (EMC) technology converts vibration into electrical energy to help reduce unwanted chatter. According to the manufacturer, the system contributes to a smoother, more composed ride as speed increases.
Together, these technologies aim to deliver the edge grip, responsiveness and controlled feedback experienced carving enthusiasts expect from a high-performance ski.
A Limited Edition With a Racing Connection
The Supershape Limited celebrates two decades of carving development with a distinctive design approved by one of alpine racing’s most recognizable champions.
HEAD is producing the anniversary edition in strictly limited quantities. Matching goggles, a helmet and poles complete the collection.
The skis become available October 26 through selected retailers and online exclusively to Club HEAD members at HEAD.com.
For skiers who remember Cuche’s World Cup career and appreciate the satisfaction of a well-executed carved turn, the Supershape Limited offers a combination of racing heritage, modern performance and anniversary styling.
