Reinfried Herbst, is on target to sweep his third straight slalom after claiming the first of two runs in a World Cup night slalom at Zagreb. He has already won the previous two men’s slaloms held his season.
The 31 year old Austrian has a large .64 of a second lead over a pair of Italian challengers. Giuliano Razzoli is in second and Manfred Moelgg third. American Jimmy Cochran sits in 13th place and Canadian Julien Cousineau is 14th. U.S. skier Ted Ligety did not complete the first run reporting that “slalom is way too unforgiving.”
U.S. Skier Bode Miller did not start his second consecutive race.
