Holderness School, a premier independent boarding school in central New Hampshire, is seeking qualified candidates for two key coaching positions within its alpine program:

  • Eastern Alpine FIS Head Coach (Full-Time, Year-Round | Start: June 2026)
  • Assistant U16 Alpine Coach (Seasonal | Start: November 2026)

Eastern Alpine FIS Head Coach

This full-time leadership role is responsible for overseeing the FIS program, managing staff, and driving athlete development at a high-performance level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the FIS training and race program
  • Develop season-long training, competition, and athlete progression plans
  • Supervise and coordinate coaching staff
  • Oversee race preparation, course setting, and performance readiness
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes aligned with Holderness values
  • Maintain strong communication with athletes, families, governing bodies (USSS, NHARA), and resort partners

Qualifications

  • Proven experience coaching U16/U18 or higher-level athletes
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to athlete development and team culture
  • Valid driver’s license

Assistant U16 Alpine Coach

This seasonal role supports the U16 program and works closely with the Head Coach and Snow Sports Director to deliver a high-quality training and competition experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing on-snow training and race schedules
  • Support athlete development in technique, tactics, and fundamentals
  • Travel with the team to regional and national competitions
  • Record and manage video analysis and athlete evaluations
  • Assist with equipment, safety setup, and hill operations
  • Help supervise athletes during camps and overnight trips

Qualifications

  • Prior coaching experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong skiing background and passion for athlete development
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
