The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) is seeking experienced and motivated professionals to join its alpine program in two key leadership roles.

Alpine Program Director (APD)

Position Overview:
The Alpine Program Director provides strategic leadership for the entire alpine program, overseeing athlete development from entry-level through FIS and postgraduate levels.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Vision and Strategy

  • Establish and maintain the philosophy and long-term development framework
  • Design and oversee program structure across all levels
  • Implement a consistent alpine curriculum
  • Integrate technical, tactical, physical, mental, and equipment development
  • Explore and implement year-round training opportunities

Staff Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, hire, and retain coaching staff
  • Implement coach education and mentoring systems
  • Set performance objectives and conduct evaluations
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture

Athlete Development and Performance

  • Oversee long-term athlete development planning
  • Ensure consistent athlete evaluation processes
  • Maintain an active on-snow coaching presence
  • Support athlete management planning

Venue and Training Operations

  • Collaborate with Snow King Mountain and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
  • Oversee training and race venue preparation and logistics
  • Support course prep, fencing, and snow conditions
  • Oversee locker room standards and youth training needs

Events and Race Department Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Alpine Race Department Manager
  • Support planning and execution of competitions
  • Align race operations with development goals

Organizational Collaboration

  • Work with other program directors and club leadership
  • Integrate alpine operations with administrative functions
  • Participate in US Ski & Snowboard committees

Parent and Community Communication

  • Maintain consistent communication with athletes, parents, and staff
  • Support academic coordination and athlete support services
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment efforts

Financial Management and Fundraising

  • Develop and manage program budget
  • Support sponsorship and fundraising initiatives

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Oversee alpine program administration
  • Ensure compliance with governing bodies
  • Attend leadership meetings

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and US Ski & Snowboard certification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and solution-focused
  • Ability to work in physically demanding mountain environments

Head FIS Coach

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Alpine Program Director, the Head FIS Coach leads the FIS and postgraduate program, focusing on athlete performance, development, and overall program success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Design and implement year-round FIS training plans
  • Develop individualized athlete plans and calendars
  • Oversee athlete evaluation processes (on and off snow)
  • Organize training camps and manage team logistics

Athlete Development

  • Monitor athlete progress and goal setting
  • Support technical, physical, and tactical development
  • Utilize video analysis tools and performance tracking

Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate with athletes, parents, and staff
  • Coordinate with other JHSC programs and departments
  • Collaborate with Communications Manager for updates and results

Travel and Competition

  • Organize and lead team travel
  • Manage trip budgets and logistics
  • Serve as Team Captain when required

Operations and Support

  • Assist with training and race venue preparation
  • Manage training and athlete equipment
  • Participate in meetings and staff development

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience coaching FIS-level athletes
  • Strong background in strength and conditioning
  • High-level competitive experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Deep knowledge of alpine racing and athlete development

Position Details (Both Roles):

  • Full-time, year-round positions based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming
  • Competitive compensation (commensurate with experience)
