THE INTERNATIONAL SKI FEDERATION has appointed Andreas “Andi” Krönner to the position of World Cup support for the women’s FIS alpine World Cup circuit.
Succeeding Fredy Brupbacher in this role, Krönner will supervise the various promotional and advertising services delivered on-site for the FIS World Cup sponsors/partners in close collaboration with the organizers and FIS Marketing. He also will execute the equipment controls and support the press and media in the mixed zone as well as provide general support for the FIS race directors during the women’s FIS World Cup.
A native of Straubing, Germany, Krönner holds an engineering degree with a specialization in architecture from the University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg. In 1997, he founded the Krönner Festzelt that operates one of the seven tents at the Gäubodenvolksfest in Straubing, the second-largest folk festival in the state of Bavaria after the Oktoberfest in Munich, and also runs a beer garden in the summer. Following a few winters of freelancing with APF Marketing, Krönner has successfully handled the implementation of Audi’s title sponsorship of the FIS Alpine Cup on the men’s tour since 2002. He will start in his new FIS role in October 2007 to cover the competition season, but also will meet with the key persons from organizing committees during the FIS technical committee meetings and FIS alpine World Cup organizers meeting in September in Zurich.
“I am looking forward to this new challenge with the ladies’ FIS alpine World Cup tour and to working together with Atle Skaardal and his entire team,” Krönner said.
