A power shortage that prevented the uppermost lift at Lake Louise from running this morning meant athletes could not get to the top of the Winterstart race course for the second day of downhill training. The second of three scheduled training runs at Lake Louise was originally postponed by two hours, but it ultimately had to be cancelled when the issue could not be resolved in time. Racers were allowed to freeski the hill from Waterfall down and also train on Cameron Way. Since race rules say only one training run must be completed — which happened Wednesday — the men’s downhill race is still on schedule for Saturday (Nov. 30).
