Lara Colturi, the 16-year-old Italian athlete competing for Albania, is back on the snow after her spectacular rookie FIS racing season was cut short by an injury. Throughout her debut FIS season, Colturi showcased her prowess, scoring impressively in both giant slalom and slalom at the World Cup. Her achievements also included a gold in super-G and a bronze in giant slalom at the Junior World Championships in St. Anton, Austria. Despite her remarkable successes, a setback occurred at the Méribel FIS World Championships during the downhill warm-up, where she suffered an injury. Undeterred by this challenge, Lara Colturi remains determined to overcome adversity and continue her extraordinary skiing journey.

Colturi is the youngest member of the 2023 ALPINE SKIING FIS – LONGINES RISING SKI STAR list.

Since her injury, she has been out of sight but stayed in our thoughts. The World Cup has many young, talented skiers, but she stands out. Ski Racing Media gladly confirms Colturi’s return to snow last week in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.

She expressed excitement about returning to snow. “Initial days in Saas-Fee were positive. I started easy, trained giant slalom for a few days, took a break, and finished the camp focusing on slalom. Physically, I feel good.”
