A training crash at Val d’Isere, Wednesday has sent Canadian Larisa Yurkiw back to Canada for evaluation after for a suspected ACL/MCL tear of her left knee.
Yurkiw fell Dec. 16 in the first training run ahead of a combined scheduled at the French resort for Dec. 18 and a downhill Dec. 19. The 21 year old Yurkiw had scored in all three races at Lake Louise Dec. 4-6 topped with a 16th place in the second downhill.
Alpine Canada Medical Director Christopher Irving said Yurkiw was evaluated by Canadian team doctors in France, but indicated no determination would be made until she was back on Canadian soil and more thoroughly examined.
