A U.S. Ski Team protest has resulted in Ted Ligety receiving his first World Cup downhill point since 2007.
The team protested the finish of French skier Alexandre Bouillot, the 29th finisher in the Wengen downhill, on the grounds that he missed the final gate of the race. After reviewing video FIS officials agreed.
Ligety, had finished 31st was accordingly bumped up to the final scoring position and gained a point. The result gives the U.S. another quota spot for downhill.
