Skiing legend Stu Campbell reportedly passed away Thursday.

Stu Campbell was a legendary ski instructor serving as director of the Sepp Reschp Ski School at Stowe, at Keystone, Colo and Heavenly Valley, Calif. He was the technical editor and instruction editor at Ski Magazine where readers were invited to “ask the doctor.”  He was an examiner for the Eastern Professional Ski Instructor’s Association, and co-chair of the PSIA technical Committee, serving as executive vice president. He was a U.S. Demo Team member.

Campbell wrote many books on the subject of skiing earning the PSIA Educational Excellence Award for his considerable contributions to PSIA educational manuals and his longtime editorial guidance of the PSIA journal, The Professional Skier.

This past September he became the first recipient of the Paul Robbins Ski Journalism Award.

In addition to his vast volume of writings on skiing, he was also a successful author on topics including gardening, water supplies and underground house construction.
