Lindsey Vonn Injury Update (via Instagram)

Lindsey Vonn shared an update on Instagram after crashing during today’s downhill training run in Switzerland. She sustained an injury to her left knee and is currently undergoing further medical examinations while consulting with her doctors and team.

“One week before the Olympics, this is a very difficult outcome,” Vonn wrote. “But if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s a comeback. My Olympic dream is not over.”

Vonn thanked fans for their outpouring of support and expressed gratitude to the medical staff who assisted her following the crash. She also sent her best wishes to Marte Monsen, who suffered a serious crash and injury on the same day.

Marte Monsen Medical Update

According to the Norwegian newspaper VG on January 30, 2026 (published at 16:45 CET, updated at 17:07 CET), doctors took Marte Monsen to the hospital for further examinations after her crash, and she is doing well under the circumstances.

“Marte has been to the hospital for further examinations and is doing well under the circumstances. She is in good spirits, upbeat and on her way back to the hotel to relax,” Norwegian Alpine Ski Team doctor Trond Floberghagen told VG. “So far, there have been no serious injuries detected to the head or face and no fractures.”

Floberghagen added that Monsen is experiencing pain in her knee and will travel back to Norway over the weekend for additional medical evaluations. It is currently too early to determine when she may return to skiing, with further updates expected in the coming days.
