Portland/Mt. Hood, OR- PT; Seasonal
Job Summary/Description: We are looking for an experienced certified race coach that can dedicate every Sunday to developing our YSL age ski racers. Coach athletes age class U8 to U14 in the YSL Team. Our YSL program offers developing athletes age class U8 to U14 up to 2 weekend training days and 1 night session per week, and a competition calendar in the Mt. Hood Youth Ski League race series. Coaches report to the Head YSL Team Coach, Head Alpine Coach and the Program Director/Head Coach.
YSL Team:
- Coaches work with athletes aged 6-13 (U8 to U14 age class) from one to three days per week (Friday Night, Saturday, Sunday) over the winter season. Minimum ability level
- requirements for the YSL Team are Level 6.
- • Athletes in this program compete in the MHYSL series, some zonal YSL races, and U12 Buddy Werner Championships.
- • YSL Team is up to 2 days per week on Saturday and Sunday. YSL Team Plus is Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. • Van Transport is offered for Friday night and Saturday training.
MAC Ski and Snowboard is a Certified US Ski and Snowboard Club and PSIA/AASI Member School, serving the members of the Multnomah Athletic Club in multiple winter sports.
Qualifications:
- Current professional certification from US Ski and Snowboard and/or PSIA
- OR has an experienced background in ski instruction, race coaching, or competition as an athlete.
- Competitive team coaching experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated technological proficiency including a working knowledge of computer applications and smart phone applications (i.e., email communication, Microsoft Office programs, use of Dayforce App for employee self-management, and use of Team Snap platform for scheduling and communication).
Pay/Benefits: The Assistant Ski Coach position has a starting wage range of $22-$25/hour based upon candidate’s experience and professional certifications. Coaches earn a free season pass to Mt.
