Just one month after securing her first overall World Cup title, German ski racer Maria Riesch, 26, married her manager Marcus Höfl today (April 14) in the two-time Olympic gold medalist’s hometown of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Today’s ceremony, an official civil marriage, will be followed by a religious ceremony near Kitzbuehel, Austria on Saturday.

The five event skier has announced that she will use the name Höfl-Riesch starting next race season.

Höfl, ten years his new bride’s senior, also manages soccer coach Franz Beckenbauer and former tennis great Boris Becker, though he oft seen with Riesch at her races around the world during the winter months.

Ski Racing was unable to confirm if Riesch’s longtime friend, American racer Lindsey Vonn will be in attendance at the celebration in Kitzbuehel. This season, Riesch ended Vonn’s streak at three consecutive overall World Cup titles by taking the victory by only three points after fierce season-long battle.
