ABC’s sports reality TV show “The Superstars” came down to two teams lead by skiers last night with the victory going to extreme skier Kristi Leskinen and dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy over alpine racing icon Bode Miller and his teammate Extreme Makeover: Home Edition designer Paige Hemmis.

The final four teams outlasted the competition through five previous episodes to make it to last night’s finals.

Competition began with a “Kayak Pursuit” race in which Miller and Hemmis strategized to hand Leskinen and Chmerkovski the win, opting to finish second and save their energy for the second challenge.

Miller’s technique paid off as he showed some real muscle in the “Strength Pull”. The object of the event was to pull three weighted heavy buoys out of the water fastest. Miller tackled two buoys totaling 450 lbs while his teammate hauled in the remaining buoy, winning the competition and guaranteeing themselves a spot in the final competition. “It came down to strategy and Bode had it,” said Leskinen.

Leskinen and Chmerkovski beat out basketball star Lisa Leslie and teammate actor David Charvet in the “Arch to Triumph Triathlon” rubber match for the opportunity to face Miller and Hemmis in the finals – a best of three round match through the an obstacle course.

Leskinen and Chmerkovski proved they were the undisputed champs as they swept Miller and Hemmis in the first two rounds and claimed the title.

“The coolest part about that whole thing was being at the Atlantis Resort. It’s a pretty incredible place,” wrote Miller on his Universal Sports blog. “It was great to have Paige as a teammate. She was really fun to hang out with and compete with.”
