The men and women of the World Cup will begin their 2022/23 downhill campaign on a new international course.

The course is an exciting addition to the calendar and was designed by Vancouver Olympic downhill champion, retired Swiss skier Didier Defago. Named the “Gran Becca,” it will be the first course in alpine World Cup history to cross an international border.

Ski racing’s fastest adrenaline addicts will push out of the start gate in Switzerland on Gobba di Rillin and finish in Italy on Laghi Cime Bianche.

The men will be the first to compete on the track on Oct. 29/30. The women will race the following weekend on Nov. 5/6. Watch the video to help you understand this unique boarding crossing event.
