Following his injury and surgery last week, Ted Ligety has decided to skip the World Cup super G race in Lake Louise (scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3) to instead focus on his preparation for the Beaver Creek races in Colorado next week.

“Ted’s making good decisions to get himself ready for Beaver Creek,” said U.S. Ski Team Head Men’s Coach Sasha Rearick. “We’re going to have high quality training for him to get up to speed so he can prep for and focus on Birds of Prey.”

Ligety finished as well as fourth in the Lake Louise super G in 2012, but he did not finish the course last season.

Despite his absence in Lake Louise, the American star appeared in high spirits in a photo of a Thanksgiving Day football game he played with friends and teammates in Colorado on Thursday.
