Northwood School is seeking a Director of Ski Operations and Communications to support the school’s snow sports programs through a combination of athletic operations, student-athlete support, communications, and brand development.

Ski Operations & Logistics

  • Coordinate and provide transportation for student-athletes to and from Whiteface Mountain throughout the winter season, including weekends and competition travel.
  • Manage all in-season travel logistics for Northwood snow sports programs, including travel itineraries, transportation schedules, athlete check-ins, per diem coordination, and Orah management.
  • Travel with teams during fall on-snow training camps and other team travel experiences as needed.
  • Assist in planning and leading dryland training sessions during the fall preseason training months.
  • Support additional operational and athletic responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.

Student-Athlete Support & Academic Coordination

  • Serve as the academic liaison between coaches, faculty, and student-athletes by monitoring academic progress, facilitating communication, and supporting student success during travel and competition periods.
  • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration between Northwood School and the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) to ensure alignment between academic, athletic, and operational programming.

Communications & Marketing

  • Oversee and manage Northwood Ski Team social media platforms, creating content that highlights athlete achievements, training, competitions, and community engagement.
  • Create, edit, and distribute a monthly program newsletter for athletes, families, alumni, and supporters.
  • Support and grow Northwood’s social media channels.
  • Build and maintain a communications calendar across departments.
  • Support and build upon the school’s website.
  • Support admissions and advancement in creating and distributing content.
  • Support a collaborative group effort to strengthen and grow the Northwood brand.

Team Apparel & Program Support

  • Collaborate with NYSEF staff to coordinate team apparel ordering, branding, and logo placement for athletic programs.

Residential Life Responsibilities

  • Reside on campus and provide residential life and duty support during winter break periods and other designated times throughout the academic year.
  • Support additional residential responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
