Two years on from her first appearance on the show, hosts Matt and Alan welcomed back American speed star Jackie Wiles to chat about her best season yet, the amazing US team and retirement.

In the form of her life

Wiles rejoined the podcast following what the 34-year-old described as her “best season yet.”

Third in the St. Anton downhill, three further World Cup top 10’s and an unforgettable Olympic Team Combined bronze medal with slalom teammate Paula Moltzan.

The US Team

Wiles also discussed what it is like to be in one of the best women’s American ski racing teams in history following the team taking the 2025/26 Women’s Nations Cup title for the first time in over four decades.

Wiles took time to explain the fantastic blend of her and Lindsey Vonn’s experience as well as the younger members with Alison Mollin breaking through this year and of course, Breezy Johnson taking another major title, winning the Olympic downhill gold.

One more year?

At the age of 34, Matt also asked Wiles whether she had considered retirement at any point, and Wiles admitted she has; however, it seemed that Wiles hasn’t completed ruled out a fifth Olympic cycle ahead of the 2030 Games.

However, it is clear that Wiles hasn’t made a decision on this matter yet with hopes to one day start a family, this has to be considered by many athletes.

Excitement building

Jackie also looked forward and chatted about how excited she and the team are to get back on snow in South America when they head to Chile on August 14.

Anticipation is also building ahead of the new season especially for the US team with the women returning to Beaver Creek for Birds of Prey speed events in December, a Swiss World Championships in February and an American World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho in March.

A fascinating conversation

This was an open, relaxed and overall fantastic conversation with a US athlete that is still full of motivation to compete at the highest level, with big goals for the upcoming season.
