October 31 marked the opening day of alpine training at Copper Mountain, Colorado, and the energy on the hill matched the spectacular scenery. Conditions were exceptional — firm, compact snow with full coverage that made every turn count.
When Ski Racing Media arrived, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) had just wrapped up its first session of the season. The next wave — the University of Colorado Buffaloes and Montana State University Bobcats — charged onto the hill with high spirits. Many of the CU athletes wore Halloween costumes, bringing a mix of color and laughter to the morning. Costumes aside, the skiing stayed serious. Every athlete attacked the slope with purpose, feeding off the perfect surface and enthusiastic early-season energy.
Team Summit rolled in for the third session, keeping the rhythm alive, while the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) closed out the day strong. The atmosphere never faded — just confident turns, focused faces, and the sound of edges carving into world-class snow.
Ski Racing Media has put together a photo slideshow that captures the day exactly as we experienced it — fast skiing, bright costumes, and pure early-season excitement. Copper Mountain once again proved why it’s the best training venue in the world this time of year.
