The Park City Ski & Snowboard (PCSS) Board of Managers is pleased and excited to announce that John Kanarowski has been hired to serve as PCSS’ new Executive Director (ED).

John not only comes to PCSS with an impressive business resume, but he is already a part of the PCSS family – with two children, a niece and a nephew in their programs.  With degrees from Dartmouth (BA), UC Berkley (MA) and the Harvard Business School (MBA), John has spent most of his career in business management and development and brings a broad set of leadership, strategy, operations and marketing skills to the table. John’s proven track record of creating and shaping organizations combined with his experience with managing and collaborating with small and large teams will be a great asset to PCSS.

John does not just bring business acumen and organizational skills to PCSS, he also has a high level understanding of, and passion for, winter sports. The son of an Army officer, John grew up in Garmisch, Germany, and skied with Ski-Club Garmisch, making the German National Alpine D Team as a teenager. John subsequently skied for Dartmouth, and after Dartmouth competed in extreme skiing competitions and took up snowboarding. As such, PCSS found an ED who comes into the position with personal multi-sport experience and passion. PCSS is excited that the new ED will be as equally at ease on a snowboard as he is on skis!

In short, after reviewing many very impressive resumes from all over the country, and interviewing numerous outstanding candidates, PCSS’ new ED emerged directly from the Park City community.

“I’m honored to be joining PCSS as Executive Director,” he says. “I’m passionate about PCSS’ mission and the lifelong lessons our programs teach. Based on the integration work that has taken place to date, PCSS has a great multi-sport foundation in place. I look forward to working with our coaches, resort partners, and the Park City community to build on this foundation in the years to come.”

John will be assuming his full-time duties on or around July 9, but expect to see him at the July 4 Fun Run.
