During downhill training in Soldeu on March 12th, Norway’s Ragnhild Mowinckel crashed after a long jump. MRI’s have concluded she has torn her ACL and incurred damage to the meniscus as well.

“This is of course no desirable situation to come in, but I have been incredibly lucky so far in my career with regard to injuries. I know I’m in good hands and look forward to coming back even stronger,” said Mowinckel in a statement to the Norwegian Ski Federation.

In addition, Lara Gut-Behrami crashed in Monday’s downhill training prior to Soldeu. She has suffered severe bruises on the back and took a hard hit to the right foot. No official diagnosis has been released by the Swiss Ski Federation, although it has been announced she is in no condition to compete in World Finals in Andorra. Further examination of her injuries will take place back in her home country of Switzerland.
