SALT LAKE CITY—Rowland Hall is pleased to announce that Per Lundstam has been named director of Rowmark Ski Academy.
With over two decades of high-performance sports experience and a strong background in coaching and athlete development, Per is exceptionally well-suited to lead the next chapter of Rowmark, a top program that combines world-class skiing with Rowland Hall’s leading academic program.
“As I pass the torch, we are thrilled to have Per guiding Rowmark into the future,” said Todd Brickson, who is retiring from the director role this summer, after 23 years. “He is a highly respected, exceptionally knowledgeable, and innovative leader in the alpine ski-racing community, and we look forward to the vision and direction he will bring to the program.”
Per’s career features significant leadership and coaching roles within top-tier sports, including:
- Alpine sport science director for US Ski & Snowboard, where he drives innovative sports science programming
- Director of high performance for Red Bull North America, where he managed performance strategies for a wide array of elite athletes
- Men’s assistant World Cup downhill/super-G coach, men’s assistant World Cup slalom/giant slalom coach, and head conditioning coach for US Ski & Snowboard
- Men’s assistant World Cup coach and head conditioning coach for the Swedish Ski Federation
Per is the third director of Rowmark Ski Academy and will build on Rowmark’s reputation as one of the country’s top ski-racing academies.
- Rowmark has had at least one representative at every Winter Olympics since 1988 and was named one of 12 schools grooming future Olympians.
- Nineteen Rowmarkers have been members of the US Ski Team since the program’s founding; this includes four current members: Breezy Johnson ’13, Katie Hensien ’18, Mary Bocock ’22, and Elisabeth Bocock ’23.
- Rowmark was one of the first clubs to be awarded US Ski & Snowboard’s Gold Certification, an honor for clubs considered to be the best in the world organizationally and athletically.
About Rowland Hall and Rowmark Ski Academy
Founded in 1867, Rowland Hall is Utah’s oldest independent coeducational college-preparatory day school, serving students in 3PreK through 12th grade. Driven by our vision of developing people the world needs, we believe in a transformational education that gives students agency and purpose, connects them to their global community and empowers them to make the world a better place for all.
Rowmark Ski Academy was founded as a division of Rowland Hall in 1982. Just over three decades later, in 2014, Rowmark proudly became one of the first clubs designated for US Ski and Snowboard’s highest Gold Certification level. Rowmark skiers are full-time ninth through twelfth graders at Rowland Hall. Here you find a rigorous, year-round racing program coupled with an extraordinary academic high school. There’s nothing quite like it in North America.
