Saint Joseph’s College of Maine Hiring Assistant Men’s & Women’s Alpine Ski Coach

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Men’s & Women’s Alpine Ski Coach in Standish, Maine.

The assistant coach will aid in the development and management of the alpine ski program. This part-time position requires some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

The assistant coach will:

• Attend dryland and on-snow practices
• Assist with training and coaching student-athletes
• Assist with course setting
• Recruit high school student-athletes through calls, emails, race visits, and meetings with recruits and parents during campus visits
• Assist with home and away race preparation and strategy
• Assist with team travel

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have:

• Previous coaching or racing experience at the junior or collegiate level
• Familiarity with USCSA and FIS requirements and regulations
• A current driver’s license with a clean driving record

Preferred Requirements

Preferred qualifications include:

• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or the ability to become certified
• USSA Level 100 Coaching Certification

Saint Joseph’s College seeks candidates who communicate well with the head coach and student-athletes, solve problems effectively, and show sincere interest in providing a valuable, well-rounded experience for student-athletes. Candidates should possess strong ski racing knowledge along with either at least three years of coaching experience or collegiate racing experience.
