ON SEPT. 29, the Olympia resort in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, will host the 2007 Shelley Glover Fall Festival. The event is named in memory of Shelley Glover, a Wisconsin native and much-beloved member of the U.S. Ski Team who tragically passed away after sustaining injuries during training at Mount Hood in 2004. The festival is a major convening of Central USSA athletes, parents, coaches and industry professionals.
Junior athletes will participate in a physical-fitness assessment and have an opportunity to hear from sibling U.S. Ski Team alumni Megan and Stefan Hughes, the day’s featured keynote speakers. Additional elements of the outing include an officials clinic, boot-fitting and ski-rep demos, as well as a silent auction. Auction proceeds benefit the Shelley Glover Ski Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports aspiring athletes in a variety of scholarship and funding capacities.
