SKI RACING MAGAZINE AND SKIRACING.COM

Boulder, Colo. – Feb. 3, 2006

Ski Racing International, LLC (SRI) has reached an agreement with Inside Communications, Inc. (ICI) to acquire the assets of Ski Racing magazine and SkiRacing.com. SRI, a group of investors led by former Ski Racing owner Gary Black Jr., plans to complete the transaction early this spring.

Although a specific transaction date has not been set, ICI will continue to operate Ski Racing magazine through the end of this competition season. ‘In order to ensure the continuation of the highest-quality product, it is important that we do not disrupt Ski Racing, or its staff, during a very exciting Olympic competition season’ Black said. While no specific commitments have been made, SRI does not intend to make immediate staffing changes and hopes the current staff will transition to the new company.

Black is no stranger to the Ski Racing magazine staff. In addition to being the former owner of Ski Racing, Gary currently serves as vice chairman on ICI’s board. ‘It is great to see a friendly face leading the acquisition’ said Ski Racing Associate Publisher Andy Hawk. ‘Gary has been instrumental in the growth and change that has brought the magazine to where it is today, and we are all very excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with him. I really do believe that this will be a seamless transition for our staff and industry partners.’

ICI acquired Ski Racing magazine from Black in April 2003. At that time, the magazine was relaunched into its current glossy, tabloid-size format. ‘Ski Racing has been a great property for us’ said Inside Communications COO Greg Thomas, ‘but this sale makes the most sense for our business, and for the long term success of Ski Racing magazine.’
