The most exciting men’s ski racing event in North America has a new content partner: Ski Racing Media.

The leader in ski racing news since 1968 will work with the Vail Valley Foundation, the organizing body of the legendary Birds of Prey World Cup race week, to provide special insights, stories, videos and more as the event prepares to get under way Nov. 28 – Dec. 3 in Beaver Creek, Colo.

“We have some of the most die-hard Ski Racing fans in the world right here in Colorado and all around the USA, and the media name they trust on this topic is Ski Racing Media,” said Tom Boyd, director of public relations and communications for the Vail Valley Foundation, which has hosted the Birds of Prey World Cup races since 1997. “Ski Racing Media intimately understands the sport, knows the athletes, and is close to the storylines that make this event stand out on the men’s World Cup race calendar each year.”

Ski Racing’s content will appear on the official website of the Birds of Prey World Cup as well as on social media, and in future promotional materials. Ski Racing Media’s multimedia content will bring the top stories of the alpine World Cup tour to light.

“We are looking forward to working with the Vail Valley Foundation and the Birds of Prey World Cup team,” said Claire Brown, Ski Racing’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our editors and production team plan to show the human side of our top athletes, and tell the stories that bring their personalities, on and off the snow, to the forefront.”

The Birds of Prey World Cup has brought the top male skiers in the world to Beaver Creek each winter since 1997 when the first World Cup was held on the new course in preparation for the 1999 World Championships. The Vail Valley’s history in ski racing, however, dates back to the 1960s, and the Vail Valley Foundation has hosted three Alpine Skiing World Championships in that time: in 1989, 1999, and 2015.

Ski Racing, which began as a tabloid newspaper, has been a leader in digital publishing from the medium’s outset. Recently the company launched an interactive app in conjunction with the U.S. Ski Team (available on iOS and Android), bringing fans instantaneous information on their mobile devices around the globe. The foremost English language digital source for ski competition news, Ski Racing also has provided rich content for Putnam Investments and Barilla as well as a number of companies with interests in the ski industry.
