With the ski racing industry facing an unusual set of challenges this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, top brands have partnered with Ski Racing Media to present a week of Virtual Race Nights, beginning Friday, Sept. 18.

Virtual Race Nights will present full access to industry experts, race discounts, in-depth product descriptions and demonstrations, special athlete appearances, and a list of retailers that honor Race-Night pricing. To participate, follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss the Facebook Live presentations starting tomorrow.

“It is extremely important for us to pivot during these unprecedented times not only to continue to be creative, innovative and productive – but more importantly to do our part in helping the community or athlete, fans, and customers that support POC stay safe and healthy,” said Cam Price of POC. “A more digital focus is without doubt going to become a much larger part of this industry after during and after COVID, but it has also offered more access, ease, and comfort to everyone. This is a big win in such a scary time.”

Race nights have always been important to help athletes, families and fans. These nights are meant to get athletes the right gear to perform their best and keep them safe out on the mountains.

“COVID-19 has surely made a personal fit a little more challenging, so we’ve added Virtual Race Nights using the digital platform from Ski Racing Media. This allows us more reach to ski racers across the country and provides them with access to the latest product information that will also be posted online,” said Paul Guimond of Atomic. “One of the biggest advantages to our virtual race night is that racers will get the chance to interact directly with the Atomic race product team and some of our professional athletes,”

Brands have been hard at work creating videos and digital content so athletes can get educated on new gear. SHRED, for instance, has in-depth sizing information and videos from measuring your head to fitting your back protector at home. Atomic will share their Digital Tool Kit, a one-stop shop for the latest race product assortment and information. POC will release in-depth product descriptions that you can re-watch to help decide on gear, plus a surprise athlete guest to help the POC team introduce new gear.

These live sessions serve purely as a way for athletes and parents to get as much information as possible. We understand that ski racing gear fitting isn’t easy, and we recommend you try on gear in-person at your local retailer, if you are able to.
