The Snowbird Sports Education Foundation (SBSEF) is currently accepting applications for Alpine Ski Coaches ahead of the 2026–27 season, offering an opportunity to join one of North America’s most respected development programs.
Based at Snowbird, Utah, SBSEF is looking for passionate, dedicated coaches to work across multiple age groups, including U12, U14, U16, and FIS. The organization welcomes both experienced coaches with high-level racing backgrounds and former athletes looking to transition into coaching.
SBSEF has a long-standing reputation for developing top-tier talent, with alumni progressing to World Cup and Olympic success. The program emphasizes not only athletic performance, but also personal growth and a lifelong connection to the sport.
Coaching Role and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will play a key role in athlete development throughout the season. Responsibilities include delivering technical and tactical instruction during on-snow training, implementing age-appropriate training plans aligned with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard pipeline, and ensuring a safe training environment in variable mountain conditions.
Coaches will also support athletes in competition settings, including course inspection, video analysis, and start-area preparation. Just as importantly, they will serve as mentors—fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline within the team culture.
Qualifications
SBSEF places candidates within programs based on experience, certification, and competitive background. Preferred qualifications include:
- USSS Level 100 certification or higher (or international equivalent)
- Prior coaching experience or a competitive alpine racing background (collegiate or FIS level)
- Expert-level skiing ability across all terrain and conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
All applicants must pass a background check, complete SafeSport training, and hold a valid driver’s license.
