Stifel U.S. Ski Alpine Team Announces Key Staffing Changes for 2025–26 Season

PARK CITY, Utah (June 17, 2025) — The Stifel U.S. Ski Team introduced several key staffing changes Tuesday for the 2025–26 alpine season, reinforcing both the men’s and women’s programs with new coaching talent.

The program heads into the new season after a strong 2024–25 campaign, which featured 13 World Cup podiums, five wins, and four medals at the World Championships.

“The Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team had a strong season, and we are excited to build upon it with these new hires,” said U.S. Ski & Snowboard Chief of Sport Anouk Patty. “The coaches joining our organization are sure to make a positive impact on the future of our alpine programs.”

Paul Kristofic and Mark Tilston will continue to lead the women’s and men’s teams, respectively.

Glebov to Lead Women’s Tech Team

To bolster the women’s technical program, former World Cup racer Alek Glebov will step in as head women’s technical coach. Glebov, who recently coached the Norwegian men’s technical team, joins returning coach Zan Spilar. Together, they aim to build on the team’s recent success.

Additionally, the Europa Cup squad will receive added support. Anika Angriman will work alongside Miha Kurner on the women’s tech side. She previously coached with the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation. Meanwhile, Christian Herzog will assist Marjan Cernigoj on the women’s speed side, having led the Burke Mountain Academy women’s FIS program.

Importantly, both Angriman and Herzog emerged from the U.S. Ski & Snowboard National Coaches Mentorship Program, which is led by former men’s World Cup head coach Ian Garner.

“I am confident Alek, Anika and Christian will bring expertise in coaching that will continue to propel our women’s program to new heights,” Kristofic said.

McBride Returns to Lead Men’s Speed

On the men’s side, veteran coach Johno McBride will return as head World Cup speed coach. Notably, McBride previously led U.S. speed skiers such as Bode Miller, Daron Rahlves, and Andrew Weibrecht to Olympic medals and World Cup titles. This time, he will work alongside former U.S. Ski Team athlete and coach TJ Lanning.

New Leadership in Men’s Tech and Europa Cup

In addition, Clement Tomamichel will take over as head World Cup giant slalom coach, working with Nathan Bryant. Tomamichel guided several junior athletes to their first World Cup starts and Europa Cup points last season. In slalom, Tristan Glasse-Davies will collaborate with former World Cup racer Jeffrey Frisch, who most recently coached the Polish slalom team.

Furthermore, Mike Bansmer and Francio Bertolini will lead the men’s Europa Cup group. Both served as development coaches during the 2024–25 season, giving them valuable experience with the next generation of athletes.

Expanded Strength and Conditioning Team

The strength and conditioning program will also receive added support. Will Horstmann will lead the men’s physical preparation, while Hugh Brooks will support Tomamichel’s group, and Tobias Mayrhofer will work with McBride’s team.

“I am very excited about these changes and new additions,” Tilston said. “I have spent time with the groups in Mammoth and Copper, and I can already see the camaraderie and fire in the staff and athletes as we set our sights on Milano Cortina 2026.”

Full Staff Announcement to Come

Looking ahead, the team plans to release a full staff announcement this fall, in tandem with the official 2025–26 Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team roster.
