Salomon USA has named Nora Stowell as the company’s new apparel manager. Stowell will direct the apparel team in both sales and category management. She begins her duties at Salomon this week.
Stowell comes to the company with a proven track record in the sporting goods industry. She began her career at Boulder Gear Ski and Snowboard Apparel, working her way up to sales & marketing director. She then moved on to New Balance as a sales planning manager, where she played an integral role in the business plan development and implemented programs to reduce excess inventory levels. She most recently was the division manager for Völkl Performance Wear – pioneering the brand and managing the business over the past four years in the United States.
“We’re excited to have someone with Nora’s knowledge and experience to direct and develop the Salomon apparel program here in the U.S.” said Bill Nicoll, vice president of Salomon USA. “She’s a great fit with the Salomon team who lives the same lifestyle that our key customers enjoy.”
In addition to her knowledge of the sporting goods industry, Stowell also brings a personal passion for outdoor sports to the job. In college, she was captain of the Dartmouth women’s alpine team, earning the college’s special inspirational award.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to join a respected and established premier brand that shows growth potential across multi season lines,” Stowell said. “I am looking forward to working with the professional team at Salomon both here in Ogden [Utah] and in France to deliver streamlined product catering to the specialty retailer in the U.S.”
