Stuhec suffers knee injury in slalom training

2017 World Cup downhill globe winner Ilka Stuhec tore her left ACL on Sunday during slalom training in Pitztal, Austria. She announced the injury via her Facebook page, writing that she is “sad and angry at the moment, motivated to come back stronger than ever!”

The Slovenian star will undergo surgery on Wednesday and further information about her recovery will become available at that time, according to the Slovenian Ski Federation. The recovery time on this type of injury is generally several months long and could keep her from competing in this year’s Olympic Winter Games.
