The Swedish Ski Federation has announced that women’s techical skier Estelle Alphand suffered a broken ankle at the World Cup in Killington, Vermont.

It was in Sunday’s first slalom run when Alphand fell awkwardly and fractured her ankle. Alphand, who is the daughter of French skiing legend Luc Alphand and whose mother is Swedish, flew to France on Monday where she will be further examined by a doctor. More information on the extent of her injury will be available later this week.
