After a successful season, the Swiss Ski Federation has named its team for the coming ski season.
The men’s squad will be led by the 2018 World Cup downhill globe winner, Beat Feuz, and Olympic slalom silver medalist Ramon Zenhaeusern. On the ladies side, 2016 World Cup overall winner Lara Gut will lead the national team along with Olympic medalists Wendy Holdener and Michelle Gisin.
“The Ski Alpine team can look back on a successful season,” said Alpine Director Stéphane Cattin. “Top national athletes such as Wendy Holdener, Michelle Gisin, Lara Gut, Beat Feuz, Mauro Caviezel, Luca Aerni, Daniel Yule, and Justin Murisier were able to repeat their performances throughout the season. The good results in the A- and B-squad have led to many athletes being appointed for higher cadre levels. Joana Haehlen, Jasmine Flury, Loic Meillard and Ramon Zenhaeusern have made the leap from the A-squad to the national team because of their outstanding performances in the World Cup and at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang. Gian-Luca Barandun, Marc Rochat, Gilles Roulin and Elia Zurbriggen (previously all B squads) are now part of the A-squad at Swiss-Ski.”
