Britain’s most successful alpine skier, Dave Ryding, has announced that the 2025–26 season will be his last. The 38-year-old slalom star plans to retire after his fifth Olympic appearance, aiming to end his career with a historic podium and a new personal best at the Games.

Ryding believed the 2023-24 season would be his last. He shares his thought process: "I always saw the 2023-24 season as a fitting finale. After the last Olympics, each year felt like a bonus. But something changed last season. The results continued and the fire in me didn't go out."
