Petra Vlhova

Valérie Grenier became the Golden Fox by earning her second World Cup victory! Both of her World Cup victories have been on this hill.

Petra Vlhová of Slovakia trusted the ski through the challenging conditions, confidently pushing her way into the first-place position. Brignone in 2nd and Lara Gut-Behrami 3rd going into second run.

The women's last first run of 2023 was spectacular. The current World Cup discipline leader, Mikaela Shiffrin skied as she has for most of the year, which is inspirational. Although her lifelong rival, Slovakia's Petra Vlhová, skied brilliantly, she could not execute through the most challenging hairpin with the skill of the world's best. Stifel US Ski Team's Shiffrin will ski last again on the second run and poetically close out 2023. Although Shiffrin was only (-0.17) faster than Vlhová, the Slovakian finished the first run (-1.06) faster than third-place Austrian Katharina Liensberger.

Philosophical shift exposes young athletes to elite international competition in Canada for the first time since 2011.
